AN INDONESIAN SURFING LEGEND, GARUT STARTED SURFING AT THE AGE OF EIGHT ON KUTA BEACH.
First starting on a longboard, he quickly moved to a shortboard and never looked back. By the age of 13 he had signed on with multiple sponsors, including Rip Curl, and was winning contests around Indonesia.
Since then Garut has travelled the world searching for perfect waves with the Rip Curl team, and will continue to do so into the future.

KETUT AGUS LEARNT TO SURF AT JUST SEVEN YEARS OLD ON THE BUSY PADMA BEACH, AND UNDER THE GUIDANCE OF HIS FATHER QUICKLY DEVELOPED A TALENT.
Three years after first standing up on a surfboard he joined the Rip Curl team, and started competing in contests across Indonesia.
With multiple wins under his belt and almost a decade of honing his skills in the surf, he is competing on the QS in NATIONAL PRO TEAM hopes of making the World Tour.

WESTEN HIRST, FROM LAKEY PEAK AND NEW ZEALAND GREW UP IN BALI INDONESIA, HE REMEMBER PADDLING OUT AT LAKEY PEAK AS A KID NOT REALLY THINKING ABOUT HOW HEAVY THE WAVES WERE, JUST WANTED TO SURF.
One 6ft set came through and I paddled for it, when he came out of that barrel it felt like one of the best feelings and kept wanting more. Then he had a major accident that slowed everything down and forced me to be patient, but it also reminded why Westen love it.
Months after the accident he got 1st place at the 2025 Rip Curl Padang-Padang cup, pushed himself harder than ever and proved myself I belonged out there.
Pajar Ariyana
AN UP-AND-COMING TALENT IN INDONESIAN SURFING, PAJAR LEARNT TO SURF ON SERANGAN BEACH IN BALI AT SIX YEARS OLD.
Not long after he started surfing in local competitions, quite often making it to the Final.
Within a few years he was competing around the globe in the Under-14 division, and has been following his dream of making the World Tour ever since.
With dedication, focus and a strong character, Pajar is one to keep an eye on in the next few years.

DARMA BEGAN SURFING AT THE AGE OF 5 ON LEGIAN BEACH.
At the age of 7, Darma began participating in local contests.
By the age of 8, Darma had already won every competition he entered.
In the future, Darma hopes to compete in competitions outside his region and make Indonesia proud.

DIAH RAHAYU WAS ONE OF THE FIRST WOMEN WHO REALLY STARTED LOOKING AT SURFING AS A CAREER IN INDONESIA.
he is motivated and optimistic, and acts as an inspiration for women in Bali dreaming of learning to surf.
Diah has a passion for the ocean and spends her time travelling Indonesia, and the world, in search of perfect waves.

BORN AND RAISED IN BALI, TANDEM SURFING PADANG RIGHT WITH HER DAD AND IT EVOLVED TO HER SURFING MOSTLY ULUWATU AND KUTA ON HER OWN.
Been with rip curl for 10 years since 14 years old and it’s been filled with surf adventures all over indonesia and even abroad. Just a passionate surfer who loves to share the stoke of surfing and bring people together.
Currently on the national team of Indonesia, competing and striving to make her country proud.

KYA IS A PROFESSIONAL SURFER FROM INDONESIA, BASED IN THE MENTAWAI ISLANDS AND BALI.
She started surfing at a young age and quickly fell in love with the ocean and everything that comes with it. Growing up around world-class waves has shaped my surfing and pushed me to constantly improve.
She passionate about progressing surfing, especially in powerful waves, and representing Indonesia on the international stage. Surfing has taught me discipline, resilience, and how to stay present, and bring that mindset into both training and competitions.

LIDIA KATO IS A YOUNG HALF-JAPANESE, HALF-BALINESE SURFER WITH A LOT OF POTENTIAL.
Born in Tokyo but currently living in Bali, she learnt to surf on Kuta Beach at five years old, taught by her father using a second-hand surfboard.
Not long after she started competing nationally, taking out a third place slot at the Rip Curl GromSearch Final.
Lidia hopes to keep surfing and pushing her skills both in and out of competition, one day making it to the ranks of the QS and the World Tour.
