When a professional surfer thinks of December, they don’t think about the holidays, spending time with the family or opening presents on Christmas morning. They think about one thing – Hawaii. The final month of every year plays host to the North Shore season, where pro surfers from every corner of the world descent on one long stretch of sand, with hopes and dreams blue water, endless barrels and some of the best waves in the world.

For the Rip Curl team, this means it’s time to post up in the Rip Curl Pipe House. Situated directly in front of Off The Wall, it’s made for surfing – boards stacking the garage, sand on the front porch and a balcony that boasts a view all the way down to Pipeline.This year it was a full house, with Gabriel Medina, Mick Fanning, Owen Wright, Matt Wilkinson, Conner Coffin, Xavier Huxtable, Crosby Colapinto and more all occupying the many rooms – and sofas – of the Pipe house.
