Westen Hirst, from Lakey Peak and New Zealand grew up in Bali Indonesia, he remember paddling out at Lakey Peak as a kid not really thinking about how heavy the waves were, just wanted to surf.

One 6ft set came through and I paddled for it, when he came out of that barrel it felt like one of the best feelings and kept wanting more.

Then he had a major accident that slowed everything down and forced me to be patient, but it also reminded why Westen love it. Months after the accident he got 1st place at the 2025 Rip Curl Padang-Padang cup, pushed himself harder than ever and proved myself I belonged out there.
