Rip Curl Girls Go Surfing Day Returns in 2026

The highly anticipated Rip Curl Girls Go Surfing Day is set to return for its 23rd year on 10 May 2026 at Sanur, Bali, celebrating female surfers of all levels.
“I went to my first Girls Go Surfing Day (GGSD) at 11 years old and got to surf with some of my idols,” said Indonesian surfer Taina Izquierdo. “Two years ago, I hosted my first GGSD in Canggu, which was a full circle moment for me, and again last year in Lombok. Seeing girls come together in the ocean, those who had surfed for years alongside those catching their very first waves, was so special. That feeling never gets old, and that’s what it’s all about.”
Beyond surfing, the event places a strong emphasis on environmental awareness, with the Rip Curl School of Surf team hosting an educational booth dedicated to coral restoration on the day. Attendees can take part in a hands-on coral gardening activity, featuring a coral nursery rack positioned directly in front of the school’s beach area, offering a unique opportunity to learn about coral restoration up close.
This year’s event builds on the success of the 2025 Girls Go Surfing Day in Lombok, which saw the largest turnout to date and raised over IDR 44 million for OceanFolx, a Lombok-based non-profit providing ocean safety education to local women.
Girls Go Surfing Day 2026 will take place at the Rip Curl School of Surf in Sanur, the top-rated surf school in Bali, offering year-round surf lessons with professional coaches.
