Rip Curl Girls Go Surfing Day 2026 Celebrates Record Turnout In Sanur
The twenty-third edition of Rip Curl Girls Go Surfing Day delivered its biggest turnout yet on 10 May 2026, bringing together more than 150 women for a full day of surfing and community.
“I went to my first Girls Go Surfing Day when I was 11 years old, and it’s so inspiring to see how much the event has grown since then,” said Rip Curl Indonesia athlete Taina Izquierdo. “Witnessing over 150 girls support each other, in and out of the water today was incredibly special. The energy, confidence, and community spirit was amazing.”
On the beach, the atmosphere was equally as high, with yoga, ice baths, beach volleyball, music, and partner activations creating an unforgettable community experience.
Environmental awareness remained a key focus, with a coral gardening activity led by the Rip Curl School of Surf team, where groups planted their own coral spider to help rejuvenate the coral gardens directly in front of the school.
BGS Coffee, Indo Amazon, and Yummy Dairy kept everyone fuelled throughout the morning, while DJ Lissa Cahaya set the tone for the afternoon as Island Brewing beers began flowing. The sunset celebration quickly turned into a packed dance floor, with attendees celebrating an unforgettable day together.
The success of the event highlights the continued growth of women’s surfing in Indonesia and Rip Curl’s commitment to creating accessible pathways for more women to experience surfing and ocean culture.
The event was made possible with support from local partners. Solcreme Sunscreen kept attendees protected from the elements throughout the day, while Sensatia provided after-sun care products for post-surf recovery. Mamaka Hotels & Resorts hosted invited guests from Bali and Jakarta across the event period, while Kuta Social Club closed out the celebration with the official afterparty dinner.
For those who missed out, the Rip Curl School of Surf in Sanur offers daily surf lessons year-round, helping beginners and progressing surfers build confidence, improve their skills, and enjoy the ocean in a fun and safe environment.
