Padang Padang Awakens For Rip Curl Cup Warm-Up Session

A healthy dose of Indian Ocean swell saw the mythical wave at Padang Padang roar to life on Friday afternoon for the Rip Curl Cup Warm-Up presented by Samudera Indonesia, a three-hour surfing exhibition featuring 18 of the 24 invited surfers in this year’s Ultimate Tuberiding Contest at Padang Padang.

24 Invitees Announced at Rip Curl Cup Opening Ceremony; Potential Contest Swell Friday

Rip Curl has officially announced the 16 men and 8 women surfers invited to compete in the 20-Year Anniversary of the Rip Curl Cup at Padang Padang. The announcement was made on Sunday at the Opening Ceremony, held at Padang Padang Beach in front of a crowd of several hundred fans gathered from all over the world to join in blessing the event with good waves, a safe competition, and officially christen the start of the holding period (Aug. 1st-31st) to the one-of-a-kind tube-riding invitational.

The window for the Rip Curl Cup Local Trials has officially opened! 32 of Indonesia’s best local surfers will compete for the final 4 spots in the Main Event at Padang Padang. The Trials window runs for a full month starting July 1st.

Made Adi Putra Memenangkan Rip Curl Trials Dengan Skor Nyaris Sempurna

Made Adi Putra "Bol" menunjukkan kemampuannya sebagai tube rider selama bertahun-tahun di Padang-Padang dengan menempati peringkat teratas di kompetisi Rip Curl Cup Trials kemarin dengan total nilai untuk dua ombak yang hampir sempurna yaitu 19,45 poin (dari total 20 poin). Dia berhasil mendapatkan nilai 9,95 di babak pertama diikuti dengan nilai 9,50 di babak kedua demi memperoleh posisi di kompetisi utama di mana ia berharap bisa meraih kemenangan untuk ketiga kalinya di Rip Curl Cup Padang-Padang 2022. Dia pernah mejuarai Rip Curl Cup sebanyak dua kali, yaitu pada tahun 2004 dan 2005, dan dia sangat menantikan kemenangan berikutnya di tahun 2022 ini.
