Jack Robinson 2018

“It was worth the wait” - Jack RobinsonAt 20, Jack Robinson claimed a monumental victory at Padang, dazzling with three 9s and a perfect 10. His unbeatable 19.90 Finals score sealed the win.The victory was a long time coming after his first invitation back in 2013 at the age of 15, but never got to cash in his golden ticket until 2018, when Padang awakened with treacherous 8-foot square barrels. The wait was worth it, the waves delivered, and Jack made history. Padang magic at its finest!

Garut Winning 2014

An unforgettable moment in Rip Curl Cup history: Kuta Beach cousins Garut Widiarta and Raditya Rondi faced off in a thrilling Final in 2014. Rondi opened strong with 9 and 8-point rides, but Garut clinched victory with an epic 8.3 tube on a near-dry reef in the final minutes.

From growing up surfing together to representing Indonesia on the world stage, this was more than a competition. It was a celebration of family, friendship, and Indonesian surfing.

Bruce Iron 2016

Back at Padang for the first time since his 2008 WCT victory, Bruce Irons proved his magic was far from gone. During his Round 1 heat at the 2016 Rip Curl Cup, Bruce delivered a mind-blowing tube ride that not only stole the show but also set the record for the longest barrel in event history. 🏆

Bol's Hurdless Jetski

Back in 2018, Semifinal 1 delivered the heaviest set of the day. Made Bol Adi Putra went all in, taking off deep, threading through a massive barrel, then stalling perfectly into the inside bowl.⁠

As the wave exploded behind him, a drifting jetski nearly blocked his exit. But Bol, with catlike reflexes, launched over it mid-ride and stuck the landing.⁠

The crowd went wild. Judges dropped a 9.55. And Bol punched his ticket to his record-fourth Rip Curl Cup Final. Iconic.⁠

Erin Brooks 2022

Fresh off a gold medal at the ISA World Juniors in 2022 and a dream trip to the Mentawais, 15-year-old Erin Brooks of Hawaii just made history. As the only female and the second-youngest surfer ever to compete in the open field, Erin charged through to the final, earning 4th place and cementing her spot among the world’s best tube riders. 

She also took the win in the first-ever women’s Super Heat, a major moment for women’s surfing.
