Rip Curl Surfers Bethany Hamilton and Rosy Hodge Welcome New Baby Boys to the Crew.

Congratulations Rosy and Bethany on your new beautiful bubs, from giving birth to paddling out at Jaws and conquering live WSL event broadcasts, your strength is unparalleled.

It’s been an eventful couple of weeks on the Rip Curl Women’s roster with two of our incredible team riders giving birth just a few weeks apart from one another. The first baby for Rosy Hodge and the third for Bethany Hamilton, making for a very exciting 2021 in the surf world. Rip Curl couldn’t be happier to welcome two little groms to the crew and are looking forward to the day we can paddle out with the whole family and enjoy a few waves under the sun.

Like a true Valentine’s Day treat, Bethany Hamilton and husband Adam Derks alongside their two sons, welcomed their third bub to the world, Micah Ward Dirk, on the 14th February 2021, weighing 8.8 pounds and 21.25 inches long. Just a few weeks before Rosy, Bethany’s family unit grew from four to five.

There’s no denying Bethany’s dedication and passion towards every aspect of her life is second-to-none. From charging waves of consequence to running a business, training, cooking and juggling Mum-life with Pro-Surfer-life, Bethany has proven time and time again that yes, it is possible.

Congratulations Bethany and Adam, Micah is a lucky lil’ guy to have such strong and inspiring people around him to learn from and grow with.

Just recently Bethany announced the birth of Micah via Instagram exclaiming “…He’s healthy and so am I, gratefully. Also, big bros have been so loving and really owning the big brother role!”

We are so excited for you Bethany, Adam, Tobias and Wesley and are looking forward to meeting Micah one day soon.

Adam, good luck topping this Valentine’s Day gift!

Rip Curl’s resident South African legend, Rosy Hodge with partner, Foulkey, welcomed their first child to the world in the early hours of the 10th March 2021. Healthy, happy and weighing in at 8.12 pounds 21.5 inches long, baby Hayes signifies a new, exciting chapter for Rosy, now the second Mumma on the Rip Curl Women’s Team.

Congratulations Ro and Foulkey, Hayes Rex Foulke is absolutely beautiful and we can’t wait to meet him once the world opens up again. We are looking forward to the day you take Hayes for his first surf, to watch his first surf event and every precious moment in between. If he’s anything like his Mother, Hayes will be styling the beachies around the world, smiling non-stop and bringing a smile to the face of everyone he meets.

Rosy took to Instagram to announce her son’s birth a few days later, emotionally writing “Pregnancy is a wild ride, birth cracks your heart open like a dropped egg & I would do it all 1000x if the end result is u…”
